A Clarksburg woman has been arrested after she was found intoxicated at a rest area with a child in her car
Jocelyn Rochelle Johnson, 21, was found by Bridgeport Police near a black Subaru at the I-79 southbound rest area at around 9 p.m. Thursday night while another woman was lying on the ground behind the vehicle
Officers approached the woman on the ground and detected a strong smell of alcohol. When asked if she had been drinking, she replied she had but was not sure how many drinks she had consumed. According to the criminal complaint, she estimated five or six beverages.
She said she was concerned about her 9-month-old grandson, who was in the car.
Police then interviewed Johnson, who had been reportedly stumbling around.
Johnson admitted to drinking and driving and after failing three field sobriety tests, was transported to North Central Regional Jail and charged with child neglect creating a substantial risk of injury.
Johnson's license is currently suspended and has previously been suspended four other times between 2009 and 2012.
