An Upshur County man convicted of the 2011 murder of his aunt has been sentenced to life in prison.
Howard Clarence Jenner, 30, was sentenced by Judge Kurt Hall to life in prison without parole with an additional 3 to 15 years for an attempted murder charge and 2 to 10 year for a malicious assault charge.
The latter two sentences will run concurrently with one another but consecutively with the murder charge.
Jenner was found guilty in the December 23, 2011 murder of his aunt Beni Truax after he shot her once in the back with a rifle and then in the head. He also wounded his uncle Sherman Truax at their residence off Hackers Creek Road.
